Terriers in trellis work

You start by embroidering a trellis, and then weave different threads in and out to create a tartan fabric effect. In the iconic shape of Scottish Terriers. You’ll see this sort of trellis work a lot in traditional crewel or Jacobean embroidery. It’s really effective and fun to do. Especially if you love Scottie dogs.

This design measures 6½ x 2½ inches | 16.5 x 6.5cm. The dogs measure 3 x 2½ inches | 7.5 x 6.5cm each.

The pattern includes: 

• A list of the fabric, DMC thread colours and needle types and sizes you’ll need to complete the embroidery.
• Instructions for four different ways to transfer the design to fabric.
• A crisp, clean and precise line drawing of the design at the right size for embroidering. It’s also given in reverse if you want to create an iron-on transfer.
