Deco Alphabet

Inspired by the bold, rich lettering of the time

Each of the letters in this alphabet plays on different elements of the Art Deco period. A time when clean lines, symmetrical patterns and streamlined forms dominated the design landscape. Each letter is unique and uses different stitches to add detail and interest. So it’s quite fun to stitch.

It can be embroidered as a full alphabet or split up into vintage monograms. And it’s easy to swap out the colours to make it your own.

This design measures 10 x 7 inches | 25x18cm. The letters are around 1¾ inches | 4.5cm in height.

The pattern includes: 

• A list of the fabric, DMC thread colours and needle types and sizes you’ll need to complete the embroidery.
• Instructions for four different ways to transfer the design to fabric.
• A crisp, clean and precise line drawing of the design at the right size for embroidering. It’s also given in reverse if you want to create an iron-on transfer.
• The artwork is set up to fit on A4 or US letter-sized paper for easy printing on a home printer.
• Clear and easy to follow embroidery instructions that tell you which stitch, thread colour and how many strands of thread to use.
• Helpful tips to make it even easier for you to replicate the design.
• High-quality, full-colour photos to refer to while stitching and zoom in on to see the stitching up close.
