This pattern is an homage to stitchers, a gorgeously textured celebration of thread as a staple of the art form. Each vintage-inspired cotton reel is worked in a different stitch and colour, giving every spool its own richly textured character. Be sure to run your fingertips over them when you’re done. 

Designed to fit an 8-inch embroidery hoop, it makes striking studio décor and a thoughtful gift for fellow stitchers. Embroider the reels as is or use the individual spools as motifs to add embroidered detail to other creative projects.

The design measure 5⅛ x 6 inches | 13x15cm

The pattern includes:

• A list of the fabric, DMC thread colours and needle types and sizes you’ll need to complete the embroidery.
• Instructions for four different ways to transfer the design to fabric.
• A crisp, clean and precise line drawing of the design at the right size for embroidering. It’s also given in reverse if you want to create an iron-on transfer. The artwork is set up to fit on A4 or US letter-sized paper for easy printing on a home printer.
• Clear and easy to follow embroidery instructions that tell you which stitch, thread colour and how many strands of thread to use.
• Helpful tips to make it even easier for you to replicate the design.
• High-quality, full-colour photos to refer to while stitching and zoom in on to see the stitching up close.
