Modern monograms in a classical style

The swirls and flourishes and stippling in these letters is so satisfying to embroider. That’s before you even get to the decorative details. There are three styles of monogram in this pattern. And you can stitch them in colour or in shades of grey, a nice alternative to classic white.

It’s a pattern you’ll use over and over again, and one you can easily resize if needed. There are some lovely stitches in it, too.

The monograms measure about 2½ x 4½ inches | 6.5x11.5cm.

The pattern includes:

• A list of the fabric, DMC thread colours and needle types and sizes you’ll need to complete the embroidery.
• Instructions for four different ways to transfer the monograms to fabric.
• Crisp, clean and precise line drawings of the monograms at the right size for tracing on, as well as in reverse if you want to create an iron-on transfer. The artwork is set up to fit on A4 or US letter-sized paper for easy printing on a home printer.
• Clear and easy to follow embroidery instructions that tell you which stitch, thread colour and how many strands of thread to use.
• Helpful tips to make it even easier for you to replicate the letters.
