Embellished spines with dachshund bookends

Old books really lend themselves to embroidery, with all that detailing on the spines. And only a dachshund has a middle long enough to imagine as a row of books. So that’s what holds them up on either end. It’s a fairly minimalist pattern that’s quick and easy to stitch. One for the bookworms, bibliophiles and book lovers.

“As always, Kelly's embroidery patterns are well designed and fun.” – Jennifer, Sonoma, CA, US

*****

This design measures 11 x 5 inches | 28 x 13cm.

The pattern includes:

  • A list of the fabric, DMC thread colours and needle types and sizes you’ll need to complete the embroidery.
  • Instructions for four different ways to transfer the design to fabric.
  • A crisp, clean and precise line drawing of the design at the right size for embroidering. It’s also given in reverse if you want to create an iron-on transfer. The artwork is set up to fit on A4 or US letter-sized paper for easy printing on a home printer.
  • Clear and easy to follow embroidery instructions that tell you which stitch, thread colour and how many strands of thread to use.
  • Helpful tips to make it even easier for you to replicate the design.
  • High-quality, full-colour photos to refer to while stitching and zoom in on to see the stitching up close.
  • Support before and after you’ve bought. Get in touch any time, just remember I’m in South Africa so our time zones may differ.

You’ll find detailed and easy to follow instructions on how to do all the embroidery stitches used in this pattern in 120 Embroidery Stitches, which you can find in the books section.
